On The 4th Day Of Christmas

Assuming that the 25th is the 12th day of Christmas (I neither know for sure nor care), today was the fourth day of Christmas. According to the song, I should have received 4 calling birds (whatever the hell they are), instead, I received a directive from my wife that we were going to finish up some last minute (a week before Christmas may not be last minute to most, but it is to us) Christmas shopping. Loch entertained a few of the salespeople we encountered in one of the department stores when we got separated from his mother as he cried out: "Mommmmy! Where arrrrrre yooooooou?"

Loch continues to be quite the character. He appears to have some sort of girlfriend at daycare (which pleases neither Daddy or Mommy - but for entirely different reasons). Her name is Alyssa (or "Seesaw" as Lochlain refers to her) and she is alternatively either causing trouble with Loch or for him. Reports have varied over the last couple of weeks - one time, Loch was trying to give her kisses and she would have none of it, pushing him away, so he hit her on the head with a toy whale. Another time, she was not getting any attention from him and so would run up and hit him and push him. Sometimes they team up and play nice, other times they knock some of the other kids around or climb where they shouldn't or pull large bins of toys off of shelves. Now, while I don't like it because: A) I don't want my son bullying other children and B) I think it's too early for this kind of behavior - I think Beany just doesn't want another girl in Loch's life taking attention away from her (I feel sorry for any girls who will be dating the boys at any time in the future). I even caught him composing a serenade for his new "friend".

Sean had his 5 month check-up (due to the move we are a little off on our scheduling) and is doing great. He weighs 16 lbs., 1 oz. and is 27.75 inches long, which puts him in the 50% for weight and the 75% for height. I believe we are going to have another early walker but we'll see if he beats Loch's record of 8 months, 3 weeks. Seaniebear also has started making sounds, the most prominent of which was a "ma-ma-ma" sound that shows he is truly his mother's son.

We are looking forward to going back to NY for the holidays - where we will spend time staying at both Peepah Meagher's and Memar & Poppy Cunningham's houses. Hopefully, both stays will give us photos like this one from Thanksgiving.

LOCH'S WORDS OF THE WEEK: When called "a big boy" by either myself or Bean, Lochlain will reply: "Not 'big boy'! Iiiii...Lochlain!"

Holla! Days (or Daze)

I am exhausted. Seanie has been moved from the bassinet to his crib in his room - and promptly wakes up in the middle of the night (1 AM, 4 AM). This has meant that Daddy takes him downstairs to sleep on the couch - Seanie seems to love cuddling with Daddy. And while Daddy loves the cuddles too, it does leave a lot to be desired from a resting standpoint. So while it is only 8:45 PM while I type this, I am dozing off over the keyboard.....

Thanksgiving was great! We came up and saw our family and friends and the boys had a great time. They love to see their grandparents, aunts & uncles, and of course, their cousins. I especially get a kick out of seeing Loch play with his older cousin Emily and his (slightly) younger cousin Carter. We got some good pictures - but Aunt Feather took the best ones. Like this one. And this one. And this one. And of course, this one. Ah, heck - just go to Feather's Flickr website and see them all. Seriously.

I have some non-Thanksgiving pictures as well. This pic shows Seanie being a typical male:
I also have a video of Sean "helping" his Mommy feed himself - apparently, she is not fast enough.

And here are the boys getting their picture taken with Santa - which coincidentally, will be the pic for this year's Christmas card.:

FUNNY IF YOU'RE A MEAGHER DEPARTMENT:

This hasn't been witty. But my immediate family will forgive me once they watch this video.
