Green Beans Versus Peas

BFF Birthday Bash!

The triumphant return of the blog! We've been busy lately - mostly stressing over the status of our employment (we both work for an AIG subsidiary) and being able to stay in North Carolina. But there have been some bright spots - like this past weekend.
Loch rocks out welcoming Aunt Marv

Last Friday was Bean's birthday and her BFF Mary came and surprised the heck out of her Thursday night! And maybe slightly frightened her a little bit, too (that's how good a surprise it was). It was a good time and made Beany very happy. The girls had Friday all to themselves (except for a great lunch at PF Changs with yours truly), then the three of us went out to dinner Saturday night. Sunday brought a nice homemade pork loin dinner, followed by a Chef Lochlain-made devil's food cake (vanilla icing with chocolate jimmies, natch) a la mode!
Happy Birthday to Mommy!

Unfortunately, not everyone got to partake in the cake and ice cream. Seaniebear - who only had to eat one measly green bean - fell short of veggie quota at dinner time. So Daddy had to enforce the "no cake-and-ice-cream" punishment. Yet it was a special occasion, so Seaniebear was given one more chance to partake in the greenbeanery....and here is what happened:

If only we had peas as our veggie that night - this might have happened:

And just so you know, I found the tiniest green bean I could, and then bit it in half. Sure, lots of other things happened this weekend, like Feather's blog entry for Beany or Rich Meagher's birthday (yesterday, actually), but this is all I could blog about......for now. I leave you with the following:
A Pretty Face And A Silly Face
(I'll let you be the judge of which is which)
