What I Did On My Summer Vacation - Part 2
No haiku this time. I'm really much too tired (hey - that's a haiku).
But seriously. We left off at last entry making a quick trip from NY to NH, visiting the ancestral family vacation home in Center Sandwich, NH. Our main purpose for being there was our annual Family Reunion that is hosted by our NH-based relatives. It was one of the smaller gatherings in recent memory, but that made it no less fun.
On Friday, while Daddy was golfing in the family tournament (which he and his team won), Mommy and Aunt Gail took the boys down to Squam Lake.
Afterwards, we went to our cousins the Cooks for dinner and wiffleball. Our NH cousins take their wiffleball seriously, and two of them have stadiums on their property. I don't have a great shot of Cook Stadium, but the boys enjoyed running around the field before the game started (and Loch during the game as well).
I ended up hitting a home run during the game before I was pulled to do fatherly duties. While Seanie relaxed with Peepah and Aunt Jean on the porch, Loch met and became fast friends with his cousin McKayla.
But even she could not convince Lochlain to eat his dinner that evening. He threw quite a fit and got put into timeout. This upset McKayla enough to get her grandpa (and my first cousin) Vince to come and find out what the matter was. Once Vince heard Loch was in timeout, he offered up a skidder ride to Loch if he ate his dinner. After we explained that a skidder was a big tractor, Loch had no problem wolfing down his dinner. Loch was then able to ride the skidder and a smaller tractor - Sean even got a 10 second ride (as soon as Daddy was out of his sight, he bawled like, er, a baby):
That night, Uncle Richie, Aunt Cass and Carter arrived at the motel as we were returning from the Cooks. Uncle Richie chronicled that mini-reunion here.
The next day was a day of eating, drinking, competition, and good clean fun. One of the high points was when Loch and I watched (with the other spectators) Mommy hit a home run during wiffleball at Ulitz Stadium:
We also got to play in the pool with Carter and Uncle Richie, while Seanie tired out Peepah and got handed off to cousin Nora - whom he adored:
Each of my sons ended the evening in their own individual way:
Seanie demonstrates his favorite dance - "The Robot"! I just wish I could've gotten video of it.....

Um, dude, YOU did the robot. You can do it again any time you want. It will surely make you chuckle. Then tape it and put it up here! I love the picture of Seanie sitting in his tiny chair. He's looking around like, hey guys, we're sitting! I totally love it. It was awesome seeing you guys last weekend!
Great pictures! Thanks for making the trip to NH - we loved seeing all of you.
